LMFL Robotics workshop
Robotics Course
Description:
31 July to 13August
This year at Llandovery and 15 to 29 August at Ordino (Andorra) we are very fortunate to be joined by Josep Maria Fargas from BOGATECH, an expert in the field of educational robotics, who will be running a LEGO robotics option for the 30 hours' course.
The LMFL LEGO robotics workshop is a course where students learn how to program a robot, and in the final course project they get a chance to build their own robots and program them to accomplish a specific challenge.
You can see the videos at the LMFL web page.
It is a very challenging course and the main emphasis is not in construction but in programming the robots using a graphical computer language.
Please, also read the detailed description of the course on our website - simply click 'visit website' below.
The course is designed for students from 11 years and over, but last year we had 6 very young students (8 year old) and the course was really fantastic. They learnt a lot and had a lot of fun.
You can also visit our web page in Spain at www.bogatech.org where you will see the activities we do during the regular academic year. The web page is in Catalan, but some information is also in English and Spanish.
I hope you will find the course very exciting!
In relation to the course, it will run almost 2 weeks with one free day on the first Sunday (or Saturday). There is a public presentation the last day just before the main concerts. It is structured in 3 hour workshop sessions either in the morning or after lunch, depending on the number of students and their age and level.
