There are 64 acres of beautiful grounds giving freedom and comfort to those who reside here.
Stover celebrates its 80th Anniversary and looks forward to an exciting future whilst reflecting on its proud heritage of past years.
We are an English Summer School offering English language tuition and the chance for our students to improve their command of English in our unique afternoon workshops where they will mix with local children in a dedicated holiday activity camp. Our weekly programme consists of 32 English lessons/workshops offering a unique learning experience within an inspirational environment. There will be a maximum of 10 students per class. Our teachers are carefully chosen and are all experienced, qualified and
very professional. All our lessons are busy, motivating and fun!
Morning Lessons are spent focusing on classroom based English
learning, designed especially for multi-national classes. Lessons are
run by qualified and experienced teachers. There will be 16 morning lessons each week in the classroom, each lesson lasting 45 minutes. The Staff are experienced and professional; the lessons will be intense but fun!
Afternoon Workshop Lessons are run by professional sports
coaches with local English speaking students. Students are able to
practice their English speaking skills whilst enjoying the wide range of activities and sports offered as part of the programme. Students can choose to participate in professional sports coaching in Tennis, Football, Trampolining or enjoy Table Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Golf, and many more sports/activities besides as part of the Summer School Programme.
There will be an afternoon trip each Sunday and a day trip out
during the week. All of these activities will be open to local children
as part of the overall summer school integration with the holiday
activity camp.
The Mid-Week Trip on Wednesdays can be either a cultural trip to a
nearby city/place of interest or as an option students can choose an
adventure activity to include Pony Trekking, Rock Climbing and a
number of water sports.
Evening Fun giving all the students the opportunity to relax and get to know each other. We offer film nights, barbeques, games and much more. Our dedicated staff will make sure students are given the chance to have fun in a safe and friendly environment.
Weekends are spent visiting cultural sites, exploring the countryside, visiting the many local tourist attractions or just
enjoying the beautiful grounds of Stover. We have countless safe
and clean beaches that offer the students a chance to be close to
nature.
We offer bespoke boarding accommodation set within a beautiful
listed building, with rooms overlooking our charming Stable Courtyard. Our large rooms have been adapted into modern study dormitories with shower and toilet facilities and a bathroom.
The accommodation includes a comfortable and warm common
room with a flat screen television and gaming equipment. A great room to relax and enjoy and talk to friends.
The stable courtyard complex is a wonderful environment which is
secure for the students to play safely in.
Active growing children and young people require plenty of
wholesome food and regular meals. At Stover, we believe that we can
offer a variety of foods that will satisfy everyone. We use as much
fresh food as possible with our menus linked to seasonal produce.
We offer a wide choice of hot and cold food with plenty of fresh fruit,
vegetables and salads. At morning break-time the dining room
becomes a meeting place and fresh fruit is always available for
students to help themselves. We offer our students a widely varied,
healthy and tasty diet. We cater for all tastes and preferences,
including special diet requests and requirements.
We want our children to feel comfortable and at home while they
stay here with us. As well as learning through lessons and sport we
want our children to have the best possible fun and make the most
unforgettable memories.
All of our lessons, sports and activities are tailored very carefully to
each age group, ensuring that everyone is able to reach their full
potential whilst having fun at all times. Their learning through
lessons will be intense and exciting, the sport will be exhilarating and
the activities thought provoking.
Whether it’s frisbee or rounders there is always some fun activities for
the students to take part in. We pride ourselves in giving the students
lots of outdoor fun whilst playing games and activities.
The welfare of the students is of the upmost importance to us at all
times. We will look after every single student ensuring that his/her
stay is an unforgettable experience.
Our pastoral care is second to none, and with the younger children
we ensure they have the personal care and attention that they need.
This camp has been established for a number of years and is run in
collaboration with the school staffed by a team of Professional
Sports Coaches who are trained to deliver top class tuition in a
variety of exciting sports/activities. This is the chance for the
students to fully join together with local English speaking students
in a safe, happy and productive environment.
The school offers all students extensive onsite facilities, with a high
standard of accommodation and an award winning menu of fresh
food prepared daily.
Our excellence in teaching and nurturing of pupils lies at the heart of what we do here at Stover. These dual objectives drive our decisions and shape our priorities of our teaching of life skills such as self-confidence and self-esteem.
Our aim is that every child who comes to Stover will look back on their summer school experience with fond memories.
