The Oxford Summer Academy
Description:
The Oxford Summer Academy takes place each July at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University. Students participate in academic study, electives and a full cultural and social program with full-day excursions and theatre trips.
Subjects offered include English language and literature, Poetry, Irish literature, Shakespeare, Contemporary Playwrights, Creative Writing, Drama, History, Classical Mythology, Classics, Anthropology, Archaeology, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Earth Sciences, The Theory of Evolution, Biology for Medicine, Particle Physics, Maths, French, German, Spanish, Debate and Public Speaking and Photography.
Tuition follows the Oxford tradition of small-group tutorials and is led by experienced Oxford staff.
The program includes full-day excursions to the Cotswolds, Stratford and Warwick Castle, London and Blenheim Palace as well as weekly theatre trips. The program also includes a more informal social program where students can enjoy the many attractions of Oxford such as punting and cream teas!
Places on the program are limited to 50.
