University of Cambridge, International Summer Programmes
The University of Cambridge International Summer Programmes will run from 7 July to 17 August 2019. Courses are taught at undergraduate level by leading Cambridge academics, with the option to write essays to gain credit from your home institution.
Small classes taught at university level allow for sustained personal contact with University of Cambridge academics. Daily lectures given by senior members of the University and distinguished visitors complement these sessions.
Programmes include: Business & Entrepreneurship, Science, Creative Writing, History, Art & Visual Culture, Ancient & Classical Worlds, Shakespeare & the Renaissance, Literature and Medieval Studies.
We also offer an Interdisciplinary Programme where students select two or three courses from topics including international politics and relations, British culture, international business, literature, history, philosophy and visions of the future.
Our three-week programme in English Law and Legal Methods is designed for lawyers and law students with no prior knowledge of the English legal system.
In addition, you can choose to stay in one of the historic Cambridge Colleges where you will meet other students and share meals after class. You will also have time to discover a peaceful side of the city that tourists seldom see. Non-residential places are available.
We also offer evening talks, concerts, ceilidhs and other social activities. Optional weekend excursions are available and Cambridge is only 50 minutes away from London by train.
Every year, over 25% of applicants have already attended one of our programmes.
Some comments from previous participants:
"One of the best summers of my life!"
"The International Summer Programme is the most wonderful thing I have ever taken part in. I have learned more in the past two weeks than in the past two years! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!"
"The Cambridge Summer Programmes offer a superior experience both academically and personally. Classes are rich and rewarding in their variety and depth; plenary lectures are stimulating and fun; the international, intergenerational student body is a delight... It's no wonder students return year after year for this renewal of the intellect and refreshing of far flung friendships."
"In the introduction talk you said your goal was to change lives, and in my case you definitely succeeded. I will hopefully be returning next year, and will definitely be recommending it to others."
