Windermere International Summer School
English Language Summer Courses for Students aged 9 to 18
Description:
The course is incredibly flexible this year making sure pupils get to choose the activities they love as well as participating in a full programme of sailing and adventure. Pupils will have 15 hours of English tuition each week, delivered in the mornings, then have a two-course lunch before taking part in an exciting and challenging programme of afternoon activities.

Afternoon activities include paintballing, horse riding, Go Karting, Via Ferrata and tree top treks as the chosen activities. On top of this every pupil will complete a programme of abseiling, caving, rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing, ghyll scrambles and mountain days. Ghyll scrambling is where we climb a mountain going up the river rather than walking, which we think is boring, so pupils will climb up waterfalls, swim under the rocks and navigate their way to the top all under the expert eye of our professional instructors.

We also offer golf, accredited sailing courses and our race sailing courses as options as well. The sailing is run with UK pupils so offers a more immersive feel to the summer course offering. All of the sailing is held at the school’s own marina on Lake Windermere and the adventure activities all take place within the Lake District National Park.

In the evenings we run football and tennis coaching, have our own laser quest on site, art, pottery and drama workshops, archery and fencing, murder mysteries, recreational sailing, swimming, paddle boarding or just the option of a BBQ down by the Lake in our private grounds enjoying the sunset over the Lake relaxing with new found friends.

Every day is action packed and the school is set in stunning woodland overlooking the lake. We run regular shopping trips into Windermere and every course has the end of term party with mocktails and much more. Every Saturday we run cultural trips to York, Chester, Edinburgh and roller coaster parks.
